4 week In Home Board and Train
Service Description
In Home Board and Train dogs stay and train with my family and I for 4 weeks. This service helps to target a number of common pet issues and give dogs the opportunity to train, practice, and learn around the most realistic distractions and in the most realistic environments. In this program I focus on basic obedience, around the house manners (counter surfing, meeting guests appropriately, engaging with children appropriately, etc), settling down with the family, kennel training, potty training, meal manners, neutrality and confidence in public, off leash skills, general boundaries, etc. **Dogs in this program are trained on an e-collar. Owners are responsible to purchase before training starts. Board and Train dogs are ALWAYS learning. Whether they are learning how to quietly settle by themselves in their crate, or are learning how to be a reliable, well mannered dog while out and about hanging with the family; their time here is very thoughtful, structured, and intentional. Play time is just as important as the commands and concepts they are learning, so lots of time is set aside for multiple play sessions a day. As dogs gain a good understanding of their new commands, we venture out into the real world for training outings to help build confidence around new things and to solidify commands amongst general public distractions. *The dogs who train in this program truly become apart of the family for the 4 weeks they are here. Because of this, not all dogs will be a good fit for this specific service. Dogs in this program must: -Show no signs of aggression towards humans (adults and young children - I have a 3 year old child who is home with me the majority of the time) -Show no signs of aggression towards animals (I have two Labrador Retrievers - though training dogs are not free roaming with my personal dogs, they must be able to appropriately co-exist in the home) -Show no resource guarding tendencies -Have no behavioral issues If any of these issues present themselves, owners will be asked to pick up their pup and continue training through 1:1 private sessions. Examples of dogs who are a good fit for this service include: -Puppies 6 months of age or older -Adult dogs that would benefit from learning basic commands as well as basic house manners -Dogs who's owners are experienced in owning dogs but don't have the time to fully train the basics. Please reach out to me if you are not sure if your pup would be a good fit for this service.
